One of my favorite hobbies is saving money! Have you heard of Upside? Upside is an app that can save money at restaurants and gas stations. Upside is one of my favorite money-saving apps! Since June, I have saved $23.32, yes dollars, not points, and I have only used it on gas purchases. Continue reading to learn more about Upside.
What is Upside all about?
To use Upside, you have to share your location and provide a credit for payment. Once you share your location, you must open the app and find participating gas stations and restaurants in your area! The closest gas station to me that participates in Upside is a Speedway. The current (Nov. 5, 2022) price per gallon is $4.09 (😡); however, I will save 10¢ per gallon using Upside. At the pump I do have to pay $4.09, but I will be reimbursed. Let me example the process to you.
Let’s get started saving money.
Start by finding deal that you want; when you get to the location, hit ‘claim your offer’. You can do it before, but sometimes there is a time limit; for example, it may say, ‘You have to use this offer within X amount of time’, so make sure you are not too far from the location. Once you arrive, click ‘check in’. You then have to choose your payment method. I typically use my uploaded credit card. All I do next is pump my gas!
It takes about 24 hours to see the money in your account; I received an email that it has been added. Simple enough! I haven’t cashed out yet, but cash-out options include a transfer to your bank account or various gift cards (Nike, AMC Theatre, Panera, Kohls, Amazon, and tons more!). I say that this is my favorite because I like to see the amount in money, not points, and it is SO easy!
